Dear Big Creek Family,

 

One of the goals of the Big Creek PTO is to fund raise for needs that have not been provided for the school through the County Funds received each year. Schools are funded based on the number of full time students. We have worked with our principal, Mrs. Webb, to set fundraising goals for this school year. There is tremendous amount of growth in Forsyth County which has caused the need for brand new schools. As new schools are built and funds are allocated to the needs of a growing community, other needs get pushed down on the "To Do" list. 

 

Fortunately, we are part of a team dedicated to keeping Big Creek one of the top schools in the district. To do that, we are working with Mrs. Webb to provide and additional funds to continue to update Big Creek.  PTO also provides teacher grants, teacher perks, technology needs such as Chromebooks and iPads, additional curriculum, spirit wear, engaging family events, yearbook, and so much more.

 

PTO updates the budget at General PTO meetings, and everyone is invited and encouraged to attend. The budget is complete with expenditures if you ever wonder where exactly all that money goes. We value your suggestions and donations. We couldn't do this without you.

 

This year we intend to have two fundraisers.

 

Our Wildcat Pride Fall fundraiser will go towards:

  • Purchasing picnic tables to offer classes safe outdoor seating options for dining and outside learning experiences.
  • Purchasing webcams and one year subscription to Screencastify - program were the teachers can record themselves for helping virtual learning. The free version only allows 5 minutes. 
  • Stencils for touch-less visuals painted outside such as hop scotch, etc. The painting of stencils would be a great community service project.

 

In the spring we plan to hold our 4th annual Read-a-Thon. 

 

Overall, we hope to raise at least $30,000 this year at Big Creek.
